So if your guitar goes out of tune during a performance, it’ll also take that long to get it ready to catch the down stoke of the next song. Once a guitar is strung and the strings are at a reasonable tension, the next move is to push the Min-ETune™ “on” button and strum all the strings. Maybe its me but i think I'll get rid if klusons fit without drilling. When Gibson introduced the Robot Guitar in 2007, the instrument’s innovative self-tuning technology was an incredible breakthrough - saving time and allowing one guitar to do the job of several, at least in terms of being quickly available to power through a series of open and alternate tunings on stage without disrupting the flow of a set. I mean 90% of its fine but when u had years of just using the tuners when it drifts or whatever, and then suddenly you have to stop everything n go thru all that n chance another string movin each time it bugs me. The other thing is if u snap a string in theory u just unlock the nut thing, re string n lock the nut then press the button n pick it til it gets to high E or whatever, but it can either not respond cos it doesn't understand why there's no note, or itll spin forever til it snaps it! (common fault lookin in mags/online) I'm not saying its crap. Its not as accurate as a tuner/by ear and 4 or 5 strings might be fine but one will be off and its just annoying, u start again n the string that was off wil go in tune n another will drift out. First is that you can't bypass it really, the tuners are around 45:1 ratio and the wrong way round and resist cos theyre attached to the motor, so you have to rely solely on the minetune.
Hey Fritz, yeah the thing is, in theory its good, but just little things that bug me. Cos i don't like the sound of drilling a Gibson. Hmm maybe i cud take a tuner off my les Paul n try it.
